I · The work
A public icon, and the person the public never fully saw.
Across the Diana trilogy, Mr Phantom has returned to one question: what remains of a person once the world has turned them into an image? Final Reflection answers it in the sunglasses. One lens holds ceremony — the cathedral and the watching crowd. The other holds something smaller and more human: children, an embrace, reconciliation.
Around the face the work keeps its secrets. Ghost portraits sit in the dark ground, a black cat watches from the leaves, and the crown, roses and jewels carry the weight of everything that was asked of her. It is the closing image of the chapter — made to be seen, and to be returned to.

The approved composition in full: one portrait across four 100 × 100 cm panels.
II · The making
Cut, sorted and placed by hand
Every piece is cut from sheet glass, mirror, ceramic and stone, then sorted by colour and tone before it is laid. Skin, hair, petals and metalwork each ask for a different cut and a different direction.
Four 100 × 100 cm panels are fitted so the portrait reads as one surface. Iridescent and gold-toned elements catch the light; the jewels stand proud. Each panel is grouted, cleaned, polished and mounted. The studio has filmed every stage.

IV · Provenance of an idea
The trilogy that came before
Three earlier Diana portraits by Mr Phantom now sit in private collections. FAD Magazine reported in August 2026 that together they have passed the million-dollar mark. Final Reflection is the work that closes the chapter — and the studio intends it to be seen.
